If you cannot arrange for someone then inform your doctor. In that case, the surgery would be rescheduled to a date of your convenience when you can get someone to assist you back home. Allergies: Make a list of all your allergies and bring it on the day of the procedure. No drinking or smoking: Smoking and consumption of alcohol should be stopped or reduced days before the surgery. These habits may lead to complications during the procedure. Medications: If you are taking any medications, let your surgeon know. Bring the list of medications you have been consuming. Provide your contact information: Our staff will contact you the night before your surgery. We refer to the information given by you to the surgeon. If there is any change in your phone number, please do inform us. Fingernails: Since the device that monitors the level of oxygen in the blood is attached to a finger, you should remove nail polish before coming to the center. The device may not function accurately if your fingernails are painted. THE DAY OF YOUR SURGERY OR PROCEDURE No food or drink eight hours prior to the procedure: Do not consume liquids or solids eight hours prior to the surgery. Contact your surgeon for any further queries. Arrive at least one-and-a-half hours before the surgery: Arrive at least one-and-a-half hours before your surgery. This is to prepare you for the procedure. Payment at the time of admission: Nova Medical Centers requires you to make the payment on admission.
